Arc settings

In control def. on the arc page we have arc breaks at quadrants in all 3 planes. Is this how most of you set this up?

I know we used it because of problems our Bridgeport had using other settings and we just continued doing it out of habit. Any advantages to any of the other settings?

I don't break arcs at all and I create them in all planes. Then again I'm programming for brand new Fanuc Controlled machines which makes things simple. biggrin.gif

Good day,

OG

I am having trouble with a new Fanuc 0ie control

on a vert. mill with NC code data of arcs with:

G3 X2.3465 Y2.3124 Ixxx jxxx

X2.3466 Yxxx Ixxx Jxxx

Note :

the X or Y value only changes .0001 or .0002

and the machine generates a full circle which

violates then part geometry. does not show in backplot or Cimco backplot.

I had to switch to "R" NC data

This happened about 5 times in 4 programs

anyone have this happen?

Good day,

That Break arcs applies on full arcs. The system can generate arcs smaller than 90 deg even with

breaks on.
