Upgrading to X2

We are currently running the last version of X. We haven't upgraded to X2 because our IT dept makes it a royal pain. Now, we are getting a new computer, so we thought it would be a good time to up grade to X2 (we are on maintainence). Can we just jump right to the latest version of X2 or do we have to install an intermediate version first? Thanks

You can yes.

 

The one thing I am unsure of is updating your posts.

 

It seems I heard or read somewhere that if you go release by release the update happens "automagically" but if you skip a release you have to update manually.

 

I haven't skipped so I don't know for sure if that applies,
