eccentric reducer

We are creating eccentric reducers and cones for a customer but first I need to create the part as a flat layout to be cut (plasma) before we can drill.

I don't work with surfaces much so I need help creating geometry I can work with.

I seem to be able to create my surface and flatten it. Now I need to export as .dxf or dwg so I can import it with my nesting software for the burn table before it comes back to be milled.

What suggestions do you have for me to do that? Seems like I need to convert the surface to some 2 dimensional geometry my other CAD program (Sigmanest) can understand.

You should be able to create curves from a surface. What version?

We have a quite picky waterjet, so it often requires going in and cleaning it up After you create the wireframe, but I think this is probably the best way.
