Lathe question

Can someone tell me how to define the stock for two different operations. 1st I want to face and turn the first side of my part. then I want to turn the part around and face turn and bore the second side which has .250 to face off. when I face the first side m/c thinks there is no stock left, so when I face the second side it wants to take all the material with one cut. I usally do this with two different files redefining the stock each time. I was hoping to cut down on files and just use levels.

Thanks
