Hey! We just one of those "old clunkers" to replace our old Okuma LS-N, which has worn out, after being in service since 1977. We use it for machining castings in our plant.

 

We're using MPLFAN, as Brendan has suggested, and it seems to work fine.

 

The only problems we have struck, is that a) The control doesn't have G71 turning cycles, and B) We cant force the work co-ord setting in the programme.

 

I was going to say that this machine is going fine, but a few days ago we found an erratic fault, where on some instances, it goes to toolchange, but actually doesn't but moves into position, thinking it *has* toolchanged. Disastrous... Luckily I caught it before anything major happened. We're trying to find the cause at the moment, but since it is erratic (we can't replicate it), it is causing some issues.
