A question for yasnac gurus

Good morning I was dropped in front of a vmc with a yasnac mx1 controller and am having trouble setting the tool length offsets properly when used with a standard. When I set my workpiece height in G54 Z for the top of my part and then set my tool length from there when I command my

G43 H1 z1.0 the machine goes to z1.0 + my H1 value set in my offset page.

for example if my h1 value = -1.25 and I go into MDI and program

G54 G90 G43 H1 Z1.0

the machine moves to G54 z-0.25.

Anyone have any idea what I am doing wrong. Is this a paramter setting or am I doing something wrong. Any help is greatly appreciated. as of now the machine is sitting idle till I get this figured out.

we have a mx1 on our matsurra and our g54 z is always 0. we touch our tools of the top of the part and go from there. or if we use a 2 inch touch probe we put z-2.0 in our g54. and from there we only use the g54 z to adjust the overall z on the part. what kind of machine is it on? maybe i can find some old notes from one of the other shops i have been at and give you some more help. any other questions let me know.

Thanks guys the read out tells me the wrong g54 z value but the tool is in the correct position its a parameter setting I had this problem with fanuc before also. Thanks for all the help and if anyone knows which parameter it is that changes the z value displayed on the machine to show absolute z value and not z + H value I would appreciate it.
