Finally went to lathe school. It was great. Learned that I need to learn alot more. Now I really need to be able to post code that my boss likes. I couldn't make another post work right with finish canned cycle. But MPLFAN.pst does. My only problem is...

I need to turn off "Y"'s.

I need to make the canned drill cycles work( it keeps saying "CUSTOMIZABLE DRILL CYCLE")

and what is G18 and do I just leave it. banghead.gif

Kyle,

To get rid of the Y axis, open the machine, click on the edit axis combination button, then find the Y axis and uncheck it.

Close out and that should take care of that

The G18's, the psgplane calls, if it is the newest MPLFan when you disable the Y axis you'll lose the G18's by default

On the drill cycle, many lathes that I have run do not use a G83, if you wanted to peck drill in a canned cycle you had to use a G74 peck grooving cycle, which drives the "Chip Break Cycle" that is available. Otherwise you'll have to do and live with longhand.

If your control will do a G83 try this code in the noted section

code:

lpeck$ #Canned peck drill cycle, lathe

pdrlcommonb

pcan1, pbld, n$, *sg81_f, prdrlout, pfzout, *peck1$, pffr, strcantext, e$
