If you have more than 1 entity in your chain set your chaining method to 3D then select your chain. Mastercam will automatically determine that it is a 3D contour. You will want to set your depth to an incrimental value of zero most of the time. Lead in/out, multi-passes and depth cuts all work with a 3D contour.

I use contour 3d all the time for deburring the parts in the machine. I use a .125 or .250 ball end mill and as long as you apply a lead in and out you can use CDC with it as well. Allot of our parts are titanium and the guys can get sloppy with the pencil grinder so it pays to let the machine do it. HTH!
