Feature Request: 4-axis pocket machining for wire

Recommended Posts

I'm offering consulting for Mastercam-users in Finland and there's one idea which has been requested by several companies:

4-axis pocket machining so that all material within the pocket will be burnt rather than cut. The problem are the small islands falling down and potentially braking the machine. Lack of this feature greatly affects unmanned machining

This is how I'm currently advicing to program this: Program a pocket to lower section and backplot generating geometry and then same to above section. After that one can program wirepath using lower and higher profile for pragramming the cutting.
