Exporting an MC9 surface file

Hello,

I have looked (on this forum) for a solution to exporting an MC9 L3 surface file and hope that someone might be able to help me with it please.

I simply need to provide the file that I created to my customer for quoting purposes. I do not have solids.

I attempted converting to iges, sat, dxf and dwg. I can't get an output that file that can be shaded.

If you are working with surfaces and export to a IGES file you should be able to shade it,no problem,do a SCREEN/STATISTIC to give you the information thats on the screen to make sure that you have surfaces.If not zip the file and upload it to the FTP site so we can take a look at it.

I think you just need to give your customer a Mastercam Demo disk. Now he can read your Mcam files same as you.

Try converting to am STL file, we use this alot

for our customers. All most any viewer will read

in an STL file such as 3DVIEW and Autoview among

others. Just an idea.

You should be able to Shade an IGES Surface Model.

Many thanks for your time in responding to my query. You have provided me with several solutions and my quote has been delivered. This forum is an incredible resource because it is frequented by very generous posters and I do appreciate that when I hit a block.

A follow up question:

Is it possible to export a tif, gif or jpg from mCam v9 L3?

Use Screen/Next/ToClipboard and then go to Paint (or some equivalent drawing package) and use 'Edit/Paste' to drop the image in. Then save it in whatever format is available.
