Mastercam 9 / Vista 32

Been a while since I posted...

We run Mastercam 9 as well as Mastercam X3. I upgraded a computer to Vista 32bit and Mastercam 9 installed fine, but crashes on "file-get" and "file-save". Crashes right to desktop.

Anybody seen this? I've tried compatibility mode and with/without UAC enabled.

I had Mastercam 9 installed on a Vista computer before with no problems.

It turns off the Aero Desktop, only while V9 would be running, which anything previous to X3 does NOT like.

It is also recommended by CNC to disable for previous to X3 versions that are Vista supported.

Go to the Windows Start button/all programs/Mastercam 9.1/ CNC Reg

On the registry setting tab use the drop down menu to set the product to V9 mill. In the file get dialogue area of this window there is a setting for "Standard Windows" or "Mastercam" and a reset button. Try switching from one to the other and hit the reset key. Try it one way, then try to open V9 and do a file get. If it doesn't work try it again with the other setting. I played around with this three or 4 times and somehow it started working. This was on windows XP 64 but I think it does the same thing on Vista.
