Lathe post problem.

I want to output to the post (modified fanuc generic 2 axis)the amount my stock petrudes from my jaws ie:my stock length - my grip length.I have tried to find code in the post that is affected by these settings with no luck.

You will need to utilize the parameter read/write functions to access this information.

 

The parameter for "Stock Length" is 17296.

 

Grip length is parameter 17840.

 

You need to use the parameter read routines to capture these numbers and assign them to variables that you will have to create.

 

Search your post for "pwrttparam$" and "pparameter$". These are the run and write post blocks. They are included in MPMaster, which is a good post to open and browse to see how the parameter read/write functions work.

 

You will need to do several things to read and write these parameters. You need to initialize some variables to hold the parameter values, you need to create or modify the parameter lookup table, and you need to modify the pparameter$ and pwrttparams$ postblocks...
