Knurlling Stainless steel

Hey Friends,

We need an agressive knurll on .250 diamter 17-4

stainless. Usually the knurll is about 1 to 2 inches long. If the knrull is not agressive the doctors hand slips while using the tool with rubber gloves on. Do they sell an agrressive knurll for a standard lathe that holds 1 inch tool bits. I understand you have to have a knurll tool that has 3 contact points because of flexing. Or should we just farm out before machining the part.

Thanks

Mike that should do a good job. Do you come back and turn off the high spots after knurling? We use have to do this for some medical instruments I made years ago. The Doctors wanted knurls, just not to sharp. Also the other problem we seen with these course knurls was trying to autoclave them. The tops of the knurl would leave a small space and germs would love staying there.
