X3 file save as V9

I have a file that I need to save as V9 for a customer. I did save as>> change type as V9 >> choose the directory and hit the check mark for ok. Now, when they try open the file there is nothing in it. Then I tried to open the same V9-file that I just did with MCX3 and our customer is right there is nothig in there.

 

Am I doing something wrong? Is there something special I need to do to save from X3 to V9?

It will save geometry only....no toolpaths

santa fe, murray is right on the toolpaths but the file its self should be under "all files" as a v9

I know the part of geometry only as I never had any trouble saveing as V9 in the past (since MCX come out). But now seem like X3 just can't save as V9.

 

I even tried as IGES and parasolid and it does not save as any of those either.

i have had the same problem, id like to know too if someone ends up answering this

Looks like this problem may be isolated to Texas location. Maybe it is something they put in the water.

 

I have never ran into this problem. For saving back to previous version, IGES is a good choice. All geometry (except solids) is supported and the file will then be compatible with all Mastercam versions.

 

Is it only with certain files?? If so, send an example to your reseller.

 

Maybe try setting file dialogue to “Standard Windows”.

Could you send me a copy of the file you are trying to save as V9? I don't know of any problems saving X3 to V9. Maybe there is something specific to this file, especially if you can't save to IGES and Parasolid either.
