Toolholder Library default

Hi all,

I just finished customising a toolholder library specific to our machines.

How do I get it to default load?

Whatever toolpath I select, I have to click 'open library' and select the one I have just modified. None are selected as default.

I looked in the configuration but can't see anything???

You are on the right track. In configuation look for files. When that window opens look to the right and you will see file usage. Scroll down until you find either mill or lathe tool library.Highlite the one you want then thedefault one will show up in the selected items window directly underneath. click on the file cabinet icon just to the right and locate you file. your done

I'm at home now, and have just fired up x3demo and sure you're spot on.

But I really couldn't see it at work earlier in x4.

You can also do it under "files" for your machine in the op's manager. This way will not make it permanent, only for the program you are using the machine for which you have built the library.

At work with x4 now...

Just looked and the only option is Mill Tool Library.

It doesn't give you Mill ToolHolder Library a an option?

Does this mean you can't make the Holders stick?

I am interested in this thread because I can see a big use for this on my mill/turn machine. I have a lot of parts that have weird clearance angles.

 

I see the potential in how much work it can create, but at the same time the final product could be great!

 

So to repeat the question;

 

Is it possible to make a Mill Tool Holder Library (.holders) stick?

 

I have a feeling this little addition in X4 is in its infancy, but there is great promise here...
