concave mirror

Greetings,

I am machining a large concave reflector on a milling machine. Like a mirror. I am using a finish contour cut which works well except at the center of the part where it leaves a nipple. I need the ball mill to cut to the center of the part to remove this. I have set the depth of cut and tolerance very small but the cutter still doesn't cut to the center. Any suggestions?

Try a Surface Finish Blend, use the outer chain and a point in the center as chains

Also, flowline and scallop may be viable options as well

Use Surface Flowline and start at the center, then spiral out.

Flowline would work great, as well as a radial from the High Speed Toolpath page.
