X MR2 looks for X4 msi

Hi,

 

We have installed X4 alongside X(MR2) and when a user tried to "post" or save a file in Mastercam X, it wants to load the MastercamX4.msi file that we don't necessarily want the user to be installing. We have several users that use quite a few machines through our network. From what I have found so far that in clicking cancel 4 times when a user initiates a save, makes it go away. But we wonder if a .dll file from X4 overwrote an existing X (MR2) files and this is why it wants to find installation files or samples.

When you did your install did you do custom or express?

Do you have 2 separate folders for your different versions of Mastercam on your C drive?

Are you saving locally or to your network?

You may have to install the most current Microsoft Update for your computers.

Installed under express settings and they are installed to different directories in the root of the C drive.

 

All updates are installed including SP3 for XP

DO you mean X2- MR2? If so you probably can't do a side by side. If you tried it with X3 Im sure you had Many Problems. The .DLL files are so similar that they try to overwrite each other even though its"separate" and create many issues
