Toshiba laptop

Hi all!

 

I'm about to purchase another laptop for work and was wondering what recommandations you people out there would have concerning the Toshiba line.

 

These are the models presently being considered. Each one would be upgraded to 512Mb Memory.

 

P4 1.7GHz/Win2000-XPPro (PS610C-02PFEP)

P4 1.7GHz/Win2000-XPPro (PS610C-029ZDP)

P4 1.8GHz/Win2000-XPPro (PS610C-03KKEP)

Is it just for MC? Unigraphics v16-19, I-DEAS v8-9, Catia v4-5 will only work on laptops with ATI Mobility Radeon M6 graphics card.

all comes down to graphics card really.

look for cards that really do full open gl accelleration. geforce and quadro chips are pretty reliable. wouldnt go for the Radeon though, ive had problems with it and OGL with mastercam

Any of those three would be great. They all have GeForce4 Go video, so that's the best chipset you'll find in a notebook at the moment. There wouldn't be any noticable performance gain with a P4 1.8GHz over a P4 1.7GHz. Of the three you listed, it looks like the main difference between them is the DVD drive (CDRW capabilities or no CDRW capabilities).
