A question for you Aerospace guys. Do you know if an internal 1/4-18 ANPT tapered pipe thread form can be machined with a 1/4-18 NPTF threadmill?? I have been digging through the specs and cannot find any differences in the two thread forms..

Any help would be great..

Thanks.

Thanks B.Rad,

From everything I have found so far I can just cut with an NPT and gauge with an ANPT. If that makes sense..

I sure like X4's new threadmilling dialog. It's layed out well and very easy to use when threadmilling tapered threads where a conical helix is needed.

Randle,

Do you make your threadmill geometry or import it from a tool manufacturer or other resource.the reason I am asking is that I usually draw theprofile on a level and then define the tool shape with the geometry from that level. Is there some place that I can get thread mills

already defined for Mastercam?

Thanks,

Brad

Not that I know of, but you don't need to define them, just specify the Dia of threadmill(use a standard endmill for tool data), Threads per inch, and how many teeth are being used in the parameters.
