Hyundai Lathe Communications Problem

Tennessee Technology Center in Jacksboro has a Hyundai HIT 8S Lathe with a Siemens 840c control. They are having an problem communicationg over an rs-232 cable. Does anyone else who has this lathe provide some input on the communication parameter settings?

Hey Will,

I have had a lot of experience/problems with that control. What seems to be the issue?

 

I actually use a LANCNC box on all my machines including the Hyundai, they work great. The Hyundai was the only one that gave me a hard time.

Years ago we had a hyundai with an 840D and the ONLY way to transfer programs was with a poorly translated german(?) software called PC-IN

 

But IIRC you could still only send and not recieve, but again this was 1999
