Step & repeat one part several times

Folks,

 

Here goes another newbie question: could you suggest a good way of making a linear array of identical parts?

 

I have a part which needs 3 toolchanges to machine. I have defined all toolpaths. Now I would like to make an identical set of toolpaths with a 2inch offset. Of course, I don’t want to make more toolchanges.

 

I could (probably) do a Transform > Translate on each of my toolpaths one by one. But is there a better way?

 

As always, any suggestions, references, insight are appreciated!

You answered you own question here.

Set your toolpath transform parameters as shown below. Set it to "operation type" to have a tool cut all the parts before it does a tool change to the next tool.

 

Use the "translate" tab to set the number of parts and spacing between the parts.

 

For watching backplot you want a green check mark on only the transform operation. The ghost faces in the operations manager window will disable posting g-code for those operations even if they have a green check mark.
