  1. Thank you, Scott! That's what I was looking for. - Nick
  2. Folks, Here goes another newbie question: could you suggest a good way of making a linear array of identical parts? I have a part which needs 3 toolchanges to machine. I have defined all toolpaths. Now I would like to make an identical set of toolpaths with a 2inch offset. Of course, I don’t want to make more toolchanges. I could (probably) do a Transform > Translate on each of my toolpaths one by one. But is there a better way? As always, any suggestions, references, insight are appreciated! Cheers, - Nick [ 07-10-2010, 02:58 PM: Message edited by: kender ]
  3. quote: Go to System Config/Screen and turn GDI graphics on. That may help, it may notThanks! Settings -> Configuration -> Screen selected OpenGL, unchecked (default) Disable hardware acceleration, checked Disable front buffer. Now I see the animation when I verify. But it's very jerky. The frame rate is around 5 per second. At the same time, SolidWorks runs smoothly on the same system. So, it looks like MasterCAM is just more demanding, or it's optimized for something else. I'm sure there are graphics card recommendations on this forum. Will search. [ 07-09-2010, 01:43 AM: Message edited by: kender ]
  4. Dave, I have defined stock in Operations Manager (Machine Group-1 > Properties – Generic Mill > Stock Setup). Stock seems to be showing correctly during backplot (for example). Are there other places where I should define stock? - Nick
  5. Folks, I’m trying to verify my machining operations. MasterCAM shows an empty view with blue background. At the same time, the Verify dialog shows that it’s going through the operations. When I backplotted toolpaths, everything looked okay. This could be a graphics problem/ If I switch to another application and then back to MasterCAM (which still has the verify dialog), the view in MasterCAM is not repainted. Graphics is fine during all other MasterCAM activities I’ve done so far. Mobile Intel 965 Express Chipset Family does graphics on my laptop. I’m using an external monitor plugged into the laptop, laptop’s own monitor is turned off. As always, any suggestions, references, insight are appreciated! - Nick
  6. Thank you for the tips, folks! Since I'm going through the learning curve on my own, my CAM and MasterCAM terminology is a little weak. That could be the reason why I'm not always finding what I'm looking for in help. Sincerely, - Nick
  7. Folks, I’m very green to MasterCAM. So far, I’ve imported an IGES file, created half a dozen toolpaths, and my screen looks like a rat’s nest. Is there a way to hide toolpaths? As always, any suggestions, references, insight are appreciated! Almost forgot - I'm working on X4. - Nick
