Memory Allocation

Can someone please give me an understandable explanation of the memory allocation table in the system config. And maybe some #s that they should be set to. I deal with mostly complex solid models of mold components so files are generally pretty large. Why does there need to be a limit on any of the fields? Is this a throwback from the old days or what?

Yep. Being that Mastercam is still technically a DOS program, you still need to allocate resources to it.

As far as numbers go, I usually allocate 1/2 to 2/3 or my RAM (if I have 512MB or more) to Mastercam. This still leaves me some cushion to run Outlook, Internet Exploder, NetMedic, WinAmp, and a couple of others without taxing the system too much.
