  1. Figured it out. Fadal uses: Q= Amount of Y+ shift I= Amount & Direction of X shift J= Amount & Direction of Y shift
  2. Long time no see gents. Using a Fine Bore op (bore to depth, shift, rapid out) it orients the tool parallel to the x axis but shifts in Y axis. I need it to shift in x axis. Is that possible?
  3. I think we have found the problem
  4. Will it crash on simple task as much as 2017?
  5. That worked ok. It had all my parameters still set as I had wrote in MC which is good. Like you said I only had to rechain the geometry and it was done. Thanks Tom.
  6. Is it possible to write toolpaths in MC and then bring in to Solidworks with the toolpaths attached? I tried saving in MC as step and iges files and when I brought it in to SW the part came in fine but no toolpath. Have no issues with writing paths in SW and bringing directly into MC. Thanks.
  7. Right on Bill. If people would only read up a bit they might understand the war between the states started in 1861 because the south wanted to seceed and the emancipation proclamation which freed the slaves wasn't signed until 1863.

  8. I have the same issues. Part rotates as the Z is retracting and it gouges my part. Let me know what you find out please.
  9. This causes the tool to retract to Z home position before returning to next cut. Not what I wanted. I just want Z to retract to the clearance or feed plane position then rotate the the A axis.
  10. That's prolly it Mr. Wizard. Mine was set to 0. Thanks fellas! I owe ya both a PBR
  11. Running contours with rotary axis on and set to 3 axis rotating about the x axis I cut a feature and when it retracts to go to the next location it seems as the Z and A axis are moving simultaneously creating a ramp looking gouge in my parts. How can I get it to retract in Z before rotating A to go to next location? TIA
  12. Get the V9 to X5 Transition Guide. It worked well for me.
  13. Bill, I have worked with a lot of 4 axis in V9. If you would like to shoot me the file and a description of what you want to achieve I will be more than happy to look at it.
  14. Are you engraving on a cylinder? Have you tried the rolldie chook?
