Parametric programming

Hi Claude!

I don't think parametric programming exists in mastercam. There is associativity, but ya can't assign expressions like you can in mechanical desktop, UG, or ProE.

On second thought, are you talking about macro programming? I don't think that's possible either!

Maybe someday...

Hope that helps!

About the closest you can come is to use the Operations Manager to save your ops.

Bring in the new file, add geometry, and repost.

I have some company's (including a mold shop) that don't program anymore because all their parts are similar, and only the shapes change. All cutting processes are identical. This saves them tons of time.

A customer will have a Probe cycle or some kind of

Thread milling cycle he or she wants to hang on to(for what reason I do not know)and wants in have Mastercam kick it out in the program. They use the drill cycle and we modify the custom page to accept the variables it needs to output Ex:

G65P9010X2.Y2.A1.5Q.125K1.B-.625

and so on.........

Of course the custom Macro resides in the control.
