I,am a student at a Southern Calif. Trade school, learning Mastercam . The school, is geared toward CNC Machinist. But I would like to learn more about development of the post processors for different machines. Im tring to find a Mastercam Dealer. Is Cad/Cam Consulting in Ontario Calif. a dealer. and will they sell the Post Information to students ?

Yes. Cad Cam Consulting is a Mastercam Distributor. They can sell you a Post manual that comes on a CD. Here is there web site. Good luck.

I teach Advanced Mastercam at the NTMA in Ontario and we cover basic Post Processor stuff. Switches, formatting, etc...

 

So if you are in the Mastercam class now, after you finish you need to wait 90 days then you can take the Advanced Mastercam. We review 2D stuff for a couple fo sessions, then we go over in depth; 3D Wireframe, T/C Planes, surface creation, Solids, 4-5 Axis, Mill Turn (if requested), and Basic Post Processor modification.

 

It woudl help you if you knew a programming language (BASIC, C++, etc...) but it's not mandatory, it just makes it easier to learn and understand that's all.
