How stable is MasterCam version 8 running on XP?

Hello all,

 

We are planning to upgrade our operating systems to Windows XP. Does anyone have any trouble running MasterCam version 8 on XP?

I found that it runs real nice I have a few thoughts thow.

 

1)you will need to update the HASP drivers from this board or it will not see the Key.

 

2)you want to use the Compatablity Wizerd and run it as win 2000 and have it not use XP Eye candy.

 

this will make it run better.

not sure if this will help. i am running ver9 at home with windows xp home edition ver 2002 and mcam works fine. the only problem i have is when i trim a surface or reverse dynamics the arrow is not viewed easily. it flickers in and out. i think this is a video card problem but i could be wrong.

sheck you are right it is your Video we have that trouble at one of my schools that wqent with on board video.

I'd try it without futzing with compatability first, then use the wizard if there is a problem. I've found that some apps developed for Win2K actually crash or experence other odd problems when run in Win2K 'compatability' mode on XP, yet they run fine in 'normal' mode.
