I used Unigraphics for last 10 years for machining. Now i have to learn MC X3. Basic question.

Can i move machining "0" to any location on the part or do I have to move part to 0 i will use for G54.

You can move the origin (0) and you can also re-orient the coordinate system. Both of these tasks can be done using the WCS system (Working Coordinate System) in Mastercam.

 

Check out the Mastercam Reference Guide PDF file (Help | Reference guide) and read the section on WCS. There is about 30 pages describing how to use and set WCS planes and change the origin on those planes.
