Fagor 8055 TCP Option (G48 mode)

Does anyone know if there is a command for "Go as fast as you can within reason" when G48 is active with the xxxxor 8055 control? We have a Quintax 5-axis router that goes at excessive speed and "bangs" into an E-Stop when moving linear and rotary axes together in the G48 mode.

G0 does not work

G1 with F0 does not work

We have to use trial and error to get the optimum feed. F3000 may work fine in some cases where F300 is too fast in others.

Here is one example of a problem move with G48 on:

Start Position: X1.6 Y-10.9 Z1.8 B0 C90

Problem Move: G1 Z-2.6 B-90 F300

Here an F200 corrected the problem. Most of these are clearance moves that I am trying to speed up on production part programs. Thanks for your help.

G51 is the block-look-ahead command. We use:

G51 A150 E0.030

after each tool change in every program. We are using these A and E values only because our post spits these out. Maybe we do need to take a closer look at these parameters. I'll try just a G51 E0.001 for starters. Thanks!

Yes, xxxxor can use inverse time. When the post is set to inverse time, it puts a feed rate on every line where we are cutting material.

But there is still a G0 (rapid) on clearance moves or moves right after a tool change (usually rotary and linear combined). These moves where the spindle is getting in position to cut is the problem. In the past I've edited out the G0s and put in a G1 and a best guess for a feed rate.

Once we are cutting material it handles rotary and linear moves fine because we are at a reasonable, assigned feed rate.
