Cimco Edit on V9 cd

Hello, in V8 I had heard that you were technically licensed to run two installs of the Cimco editor. One for the station running Mastercam and one for a DNC computer. I don't know if this was true but I do know that people did this. In V9 if you do not have the sim on the pc Cimco Edit will not run. Could someone from Cimco shed some light on this?

Mine does not work either with the SIM unplugged. I was under the same impression you were about being able to install on 2 PC's.

You are both correct. Up through V8 licensed users were authorized to run CIMCO Edit on their programming PC and one additional PC.

 

Due to security issues we were forced to lock CIMCO Edit OEM to PCs running Mastercam starting with V9.

We ran into this problem also. The ver9. cimco editor was set-up to run for 30 days on a computer not having the sim. The solution we used was taking the editor from the version 8 software and everyones happy again. Obviously we are running the ver 9 editor on the system with the sim.

Thank you for the clarification Anthony. Bummer. So I guess we gotta keep those V8 CD's handy if we want to have one of our PC's do DNC.
