4TH AXIS

I'AM TRYING TO MACHING A FEEDSCREW, ON A VMC W/A 4TH INDEX. WHEN MACHING W/MULTIAXIS ,ROTARY 4AX ON (YAXIS)& ROTARY CUT ON CENTER POINT, IS THAT THE RIGHT WAY ? OR WHAT IS THE BEST WAY FOR THIS PART TO MACH. IT ? I PUT THE FILE ON THE FPT, UNDER FEEDSCREW.MC9

Take a look at feedscrew_fixed.mc9 on the ftp and backplot that once and see if its what your after

hmmmm..........it reloading right now....feedscrew with paths.mc9

Dogfartz we have the same thing but I had it going the wrong way.(in the Climb instead of conventional)

 

I had put a file up to "feedscrew_cadcam.mc9

i just left it at default cuz he never specified,

I also noticed he said he wanted the 4th axis on the Y but his geometery is on the X...........i left the geometery alone and set the 4th as the X so if he wants Y he`ll have to move it and regen

I think one of the big problems was that he had it set to "Y" and not "X" then a few other toggles on top.

that combined with "Use Center Point".....i only like to use that on a complete circle,other than that i like to be able to control the axis dampening,especially if there any flats with a good length to them

I had left the center point on but I know what you are saying.

I was trying not to make to many change if possable as they review the file.

 

he can look at both files and should get a good Idea of how it works.
