IGES Issues

I'm have a strange issue with importing an IGES file...file_converters_IGES_read file will act like it has imported a file, but there is nothing on the screen. The little "processing" dialog activates at the bottom toolbar, showing that something is happening, but nothing appears on screen. If I scan the file before opening, it does give me a list of the entities, however after opening it, screen_statistics says that there are no entities in MC9!

More frustruating is that the file opens just fine on another workstation. Yes, I can save it to a disk there, and then open it on my computer, or send it across the network. I have opened other IGES files just fine in the past on my rig.. confused.gif

thx

Check the switches in the proggy that it was exported from. the fault usually is found there, rather thnan in MCam. We see this on occaision in Pro/E exports. We send the designer back to their box till they get it right!

When you do open it on your machine is it with MasterCam or another program/

Yup, the program was made in Pro/e..and sent to me zipped. I unzipped with both Winzip and Archiver and I tried to open it with Mastercam.

What does'nt make sense to me is why it opens on another Mastercam workstation, but not mine...same exact file! I can open it on the other Mastercam computer and then save it on mine. If it was screwed up by Pro/E, I would think that we would'nt be able to open it at all by Mastercam...Why does it open on one machine and not another?

thx
