Import Setup

Hi All

 

I am new to the forum and have been reading alot of the threads. I wish i know this was here when i first started using mc. It's been very educational. The question i have is in my job setup there is a toggle to import a setup. i have no idea of how to save a setup or anything of that nature. I am sure mc can be used more efficently than how i am using it since i am self taught. any help will be appreciated. Thanx in advance.

The "Import" in Job Setup allows you to import, tools, material data, toolpaths that have been defined/saved with another Mastercam file.

So if you had a workpiece that you needed to program that was nearly identical to one you worked on last week/month, you can import all that information from the older file and not have to define it from scratch.

I guess what i need to know is how do i save a previously used job setup?

You don't specifically save a mc set up. Each time you save a mc file the set up is saved with it. When you want to import a set up you got to any previously created mc file and import the tooling, operation, or set up information from it. It is that simple.
