Toolpath display on regen op

Recommended Posts

The other programmer in our shop is finally starting to make use of our other mastercam seat, but when he initially set it up, he must have changed some settings. When I run a toolpath with my configuration it just quickly draws the toolpath in. On his configuration file, it slowly goes around the whole profile showing the diameter of the tool. This has to be a setting somewhere that we are just overlooking, but I can't seem to find out how to change it. Any help would be appreciated

JeremyG,

I believe what you are referring to is the Tool Display settings found on the Tool Parameters page of the operation. If you open this button up it will have a couple of switches in it. What is probably happening is his switches are set to Step instead of Run and he may also have Interpolate instead of Endpoints selected. What this does is Step through the toolpath at the interpolation distance value, showing the diameter of the tool for each step. This can be stopped by changing the settings back to "Run" and "Endpoints". Or read the prompt and it will tell you to hit the ESC key to just make the toolpath.

This can also be changed in the Configuration by selecting Screen-Configure-NC Settings. The Tool Display button is at the bottom of this tab. HTH cheers.gif
