Post Processor Editing

Recommended Posts

I am fairly new to computer programming in general but I am very interested in learning more about the Mastercam Post Processor language and maybe even some Visual Basic (I was told that understanding VB helps when editing posts). I have edited several post with success but there is still portions that I do not fully understand. Is there somewhere that everyone recommends (website, classes, etc.) that help to learn more about this stuff? I have taken a basic post editing class and I did pretty well catching on but they obviously don't cover everything. Let me know if anyone has a good source to check out.

I use three tools, well actually 4 including this forum. 1) the Post CD available from your reseller, 2) The X4 Post Debugger's Guide in the "Documentation" folder in your MCAMX Directory, and the NCI Parameter Ref guide.

Knowing some C++ structure helps too for variable declarations, variable formatting, math functions etc... but you're right in that it's a little like VB as well. It's a logical (to me) mix of the two.
