arc filter

This part is about 43" long with a rad of 24". you can see the 32 segment that make up the entire surface. when i post i get a lot of xy moves and only 2 g3 arcs. i have filter set to 2:1 with .0005 toll and creat xy arcs on.

i thought about backplotting save as geo and filtering it agian, but this part mounts to a larger part 50" long x 15.0" wide that i will have to surface. also has profile of surf .004 (good luck)

any other ideas?

Geometry creation plays an importand part in toolpath creation.

Is there any reason why there has to be 32 segments in the part? It looks like a surface model built from splines to me.

I am guessing that it is not a true arc and those segments are points laid out for inspection of the part, and those points were used to make the part.

But if a true arc would lay on top of the points and intersect them all and be within the .004, I would rebuild the part with one arc.

Then you would not have that problem.
