60 Durometer Polyurethane

I have to make a few parts out of this stuff, 2x2x3"

Tolerances aren't really an issue for the most part,since I'm making the parts that it assembles to.

Have to drill and c/bore and mill a compound angle.

 

Would it be better to use HSS or carbide?

How would I maintain a hole size since I'm certain that it will shrink when I drill it.

Any tips would be helpful.

I would use the High speed and walk the holes out taking smaller depth cuts.

Putting the parts in the freezer for an hour beforehand will help. Depending on how many parts you need, it might be easier to make a mould and have someone pour them.

Oh yeah I didn't even think about freezing them.

I tried both a brand new HSS and a carbide endmill.... it was like trying to machine a marshmallow.
