DMU 50

We just got a new DMU 50(itnc 530 control ) and although I don’t have a post specifically for this machine I was wondering if I used the post for our evolution machines(itnc 530 control ) and the machine definition for our dmu 50 (siemens control) if it would work. I know for 3+2 it would be fine but not sure about 5axis motion. Any help would be appreciated.

Since the configuration of the machines is different, the math in the post is different to calculate the correct angles, so you will need a different post to run the machine, specifically for the 5-axis motion. You are correct that 3+2 should be usable across the two machines based on the cycle 19.

You don’t need different math for different machine kinematics.

That’s just a thing what is tried to be putted in your head by resellers so they can make more$.

Every machine works with vector components to get the tool orientation instead of real machine angles.

I have modified a Sinumerik post to work for 5 machines with different kinematics (head/table, table/table) from 3 to 5x.

Read the controller manual and change your mpmaster post accordingly.
