ADDING A START AND END POINT IN POST

Recommended Posts

I am running a mori seiki lathe using mastercam x5. I'm not sure what the original version is but I'd like to put a start and end rapid point in at the beginning and end of the toolpath so i can clear my tailstock. I have tried every combination of possiblities that i know of. I'd like a normal face cycle to look like this:

(ROUGH FACE)

G54

N1 T0606

G99

M46

G97 S223 M03

G0 X20. Z4. *******

G0 X3.4272 Z.0807 M8

G50 S3600

G96 S200

G1 X3.2857 Z.01 F.01

X-.2468

Z.11

G0 Z.16

G0 X20. Z4.*****

M9

G28 U0. W0.

M05

M01

Is this possible?

Just changed all 4. same results. I take its not possible to add those locations to the post?

Not impossible by any means.

How do you want to do it? hardcode so it's always there? tied to a misc integer?

Do you know how to use the post debugger?

It may be easier to draw a point when you start a file, then after you chain whatever your going to cut, just chain that point before green checking out of the chaining dialogue box.

This is up to you to decide.

What did you figure out?

As for using misc integers... it doesn't get much easier, search for stuff on the forum, make a backup of your post so you can try things without fear of losing everything!!

if mi6$ = 1,
   [
   pbld, n$, "misc int 6 is on", e$
   ]
   else,
  	[
  	pbld, n$, "misc int 6 is off", e$
       ]
