Exceeding boundry points

While trying to open a .stp file in X5 we are getting the following error "# of boundry points exceeds 32767". We have not been able to figure out what this is and it is not allowing us to open the file. Any ideas?

Now I could be mistaken on this but it "sounds" like you might be bumping up against the 32 bit limitation on file size.

That's what we think as well but we can not find anything definative about it so we don't know how to fix it.

Probably not a file size limitation, but...

It sounds as if you have some monster of a trimmed surface that has too many boundary point that define its trimmed boundary.

Of course that's a guess without have the file to investigation.

We were able to bring the file in on a similar computer we have in house and we did not get the error.

 

We did send the file to our distrubutor's tech department. We have not heard anything back.
