  1. Our tolerances are in the attached file. The lines of code are in the other file. This problem, it seems, has got worse with every newer version of Mastercam. I don't know if something was mastakenly changed in the machine definition or somewhere else. It's driving us crazy. We have lost at least 6 to 8 days of work because of this problem.   3. We've been going round and round with CNC Software and Haas's application department. Once we got in touch with the right people they have been very helpful, we just don't have a solution yet. So, while we are still working that angle we figured we'd post the issue here. We have 3 Haas VMC, super mill, VF1 & VF2SS. We have been getting alarm 304, "Invalid I, J or K in G02 or G03 radius at start must match radius at end of arc within 0.001 inches". We get the alarm on all 3 machines but it is more frequent on the VF1 (oldest machine). The programs we are running are for molds so it is all 3D machining and the programs are one and done. The run time on the programs can be anywhere from 4 hours to 40 hours, just depends upon the complexity of the geometry. We do not believe that it is an issue with our programs because after the alarm is thrown we can delete the section of the program that has already run and typically finish the program with out issue. On some of the longer programs we need to do this 2-3 times. Haas applications seemed to think it was some type of rounding/tolerance issue. CNC Software was able to recreate the alarm with our program and has been trying to make some adjustments to our post file. Does anyone else having any insight as to what might be going on? Is there some type of tolerance/rounding setting that we are not aware of that would accumulate until it reached the allowable limit on the machines? Thanks for your help, Tim
  4. Has anyone had this error before? The explaination for the error is possible corrupted program. It is about a 12 hour program. It got through the first 4 hours and then threw the alarm. We removed the section of the program that had already run and then restarted. No error now. We are running the program off of an external zip drive on a VF1. Tim
  5. We were able to bring the file in on a similar computer we have in house and we did not get the error. We did send the file to our distrubutor's tech department. We have not heard anything back. Tim
  6. That's what we think as well but we can not find anything definative about it so we don't know how to fix it.
  7. While trying to open a .stp file in X5 we are getting the following error "# of boundry points exceeds 32767". We have not been able to figure out what this is and it is not allowing us to open the file. Any ideas? Thanks, Tim
  8. We were having gouging issues and our reseller told us to go into the control definition, under arc, arc center type and switch all 3 to delta start to center. Have not had any gouging since. Instead of R's outputs I,J,K's.
  9. I am having problems chaining. I'm sure I'm beating a dead horse but I can't figure out how to select a single chain out of multiple ones. I have tried selecting the beginning and then selecting where I want it to end but that doesn't work right. I also tried using the shift key and selecting but that does absolutely nothing for me. Everything I have read on this forum on how to select a single chain has not worked for me. Why can't they just put a single/partial chain option in the general selection box? I have been trying to deal with this since I first got "X". They must not be listening to the users because there are quite a few people with this same complaint. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks' Chris
  10. Mike - Old computer has already been dumped and set up in another department within the company. Anthony - We ran the diagnostics on the drive and it came back fine. I should start over by saying that we can send programs to the CNC, it just takes awhile. When we try to change some of the settings in the DNC software that is when we start running into problems. We currently have our settings at the following (which work): Parity Bit - Even Data Bits - 7 Stop Bits - 1 Flow Control - XON/XOFF Baud Rate - 115200 The following settings worked the fastest for us on the old computer but this is the setting that is causing the problem. We are able to get smaller programs out with this setting but the larger ones get anywhere from 40%-70% and the system crashes. Parity Bit - None Data Bits - 8 Stop Bits - 1 Flow Control - Xmodem Baud Rate - 115200

  12. We double checked the cables...everything appears to be good. We can send the programs, it is just taking 8-10 times longer than it has in the past.
  13. We have recently purchased a new computer and have been running for 3 weeks with no major issues. In addition to running MasterCam on this computer we also send our programs to our 3 Haas CNC machines using DNC Software’s SE DNC via RS232 cables. We set up our DNC software with the same settings as the old computer and everything appeared to be working fine. Then this week something changed. It is now taking forever to send programs to one of the machines. 45 minutes to an hour for programs that used to take minutes. And, it is only happening on one of the machines. The other 2 are working fine. We tried to change some of the settings but each time we do that the program starts to load and then crashes the computer. We did get updated DNC software for the 64-bit machine. We are wondering if we need to update our driver for our USB connector. This particular RS 232 is connected to a USB adapter and then into a USB port on the computer. The other RS 232 cables plug into the serial ports. Thanks for your help.
  14. We recently installed Mold Plus (10.0 SP0). All we get for the standard tool bar is a compressed tool bar with the X in the upper left hand corner, no icons. We can not expand this tool bar. However, we can go in and create a custom tool bar with all the Mold Plus functions. Any thoughts? Thanks -- Tim
