"Entity Not Flat" Warning

Recommended Posts

MasterCam MX5.1, Windows 7, VB.net Express 2008

I get a strange series of warnings on SOME drawings, when I call "SearchManager.GetOperations()"

While my routine is waiting for this call to complete, I will get a series of MsgBoxes from ~somewhere~

Saying "Entity Not Flat", and a window caption of "Warning". This is NOT coming from My code.

On the drawings that do it, it is always the same amount of times it pops up, from 2 in some drawings,

to 20, in others. Also, in the drawings where this behaviour appears, it does NOT happen if I use

"SearchManager.GetOperations(True)". Anyone else seen this ?

Welcome back, Roger. While I hope you went someplace warm, you still look pretty white in your photo :p

The type of Toolpath that I KNOW it shows up in, is a 3D contour operation. Something as simple as engraving text (wrapped on a cylinder) that would generate splines.

There is no 4th axis involved.

FWIW, while you were on vacaction, I sent copies of simplified drawings, simplified code, and sample compiled nethooks to '[email protected]' per

this post: http://www.emastercam.com/board/index.php?showtopic=71958&st=100

The version 5 samples have a simplified version 5 drawing, NetHook 2.0 source,(vb2008) and a compiled .dll

The version 7 samples have a simplified version 7 drawing, NetHook 3.0 source,(vb2012) and a compiled .dll

I will forward these to you, as well.
