Tool filters

Is there any rhyme or reason to the type of tool MC selects for the filter when picking a tool from the library? Sometimes it picks flat end mills, sometimes balls, sometimes dovetails. There doesn't seem to be any consistency to it - not the type of toolpath, not the last type of tool used, etc.

I've found that the filter will stay with the last filter you used. Say your 1st tool path you used the filter to only show facemills, then the next contour toolpath you do the tool library will only show facemills again, at least that's how it seems to work to me. I have mine set up so when I use a contour tool path all of the tool types in the top row and the 1st three on the second row come up. And for drilling all drill type tools come up. Sometimes if I can't find the tool in the library that I know is there I'll narrow the filter down to find it. Once I put the tool I need in the tool manager, I'll go back and reset my library filter.

I find it switches in what seems like an attempt at predictive behavior. I drill a hole, it picks drills. I drill the same hole again, it picks reamers or taps. Sometimes it's right, but it's usually wrong.
