Royce Router

Does anyone have any information on Royce Routers Made in Chicago? I have heard some things (none good) I am doing some consulting for a company that is looking at a 5 axis router and Royce has one close to compleation.

SCM USA In georgia has Routech routers too. I used to run them at the last place I worked. They are 5 axis.

As far as 5 axis routers go, they aren't too bad. Semi-rigid but a bit weird to program for if all their experience is with fanuc controls. A bit of a PIA when they break down, but not terrible. What are they cutting?

The place I worked for bought one a big mistake! From the tool changer being on the left side and not following the head making tool change a long ordeal. We had to buy another machine 6 months later and we went with a dms. Great machine.

My company is looking at a royce and dms next week to buy!We would be cutting patterns out of perfect plank and trimming plastic parts. How do you think the dms would do with that?

Here are some pics of the dms that I programmed a while ago. One is 6 to 8 months old and other is brand new the juice was not even hooked up yet.

Go with the DMS. We have 5 of them in house for plastic trimming and they work well, especially for the price.
