Mastercam Direct Inventor 2012 x64

I am running Mastercam X6, Inventor 2012 x64 and WIN Pro 7 x64. When I run the mastercam direct from inventor it tells me, "Cannot find the mastercam executable". Any thoughts.

It is important that Inventor is already installed and working before you install Mastercam direct for Inventor. At least that is the way it is for Mastercam direct for Solidworks.

Also make sure Inventor is not running when you install mastercam direct for Inventor. Try uninstalling direct and then re-installing it.

did you download and install the 64 bit version of mastercam direct or the 32-bit version?

Yep.....all of these things have been done. I installed the 64bit version. I will try reinstalling. I use Inventor everyday. Mastercam was updated a week ago. Then Direct was installed.

There was an issue with permissions and the way we were reading the Registry to find the path to Mastercam...If you can, at least temporarily, loosen your User Account (UAC) settings you might find that that's the cause.

But, in general, you should be able to save the IPT from Inventor and open it in Mastercam without using the "Direct" route.

Does anyone know if the tree comes in with the ipt file from Inventor with the use of Direct?

No, it will come in as a dumb solid without the tree. I believe it is only with Solidworks where we can bring in the native solids tree.
