Is it possible?

Hello

is it possible in master cam to put a equal chamfer on a drilled hole passing thru a cylinder?

i did my best even with help of the mastercam tech support(some of those guys know what they are doing, some dont)

using a solid and creating a curve around the intended toolpath so i could pull a chain on it.

but still i get a heavier bevel on the top , where z0 is . than the bottom on the sides.

or am i missing something here?

thanks

+1 to JP.

I will also draw a surface and use a surface toolpath with bull or ball mill

if it is critical.

I do this often except on the Nakamura's... they have a Cross Hole Chamfering cycle to do this... G329A_.B_.C_.D_.E_.F_.X_.Y_.Z_.[H_.Q_.I_.J_.S_.] and the variables define the chamfer.

Sounds like an interesting Macro James.

Yeah, there's 5 pages in the manual that define the variables for it. It is pretty slick though. Works like a charm.

Hey John,

I see there is a tip offset of .01.

Why does mastercam go deeper than that. Just curious.

We have our pre-setter set a chamfer tool to a diameter and program a flat endmill at that per-set diameter because the tip offsets always seem wrong for a chamfer cutter.

Or am I missing something???

Thanks
