Fanuc Data server with Twin Turret Lathe

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I have a rather frustrating problem with a Mori NT1000 twin turret lathe that I am hoping somebody may be able to help me with. Unfortunately I am an Okuma guy a little out of water here.

My problem is that as this is a twin turret lathe it therefore runs 2 programs. Let say we are running program O1234. We can select program O1234 for each turret, All good so far.

if the Main programs have sub programs, these can be called with M98 P4567 for each turret, the process works just fine. From what Mori are telling me there is Basically 2 separate controllers with a bridge interface that the user sees so this allows for both turrets to run the same numbered program and call the same numbered but separate subs

My problem is that I am running out of memory with the subs, well in fact the whole thing, I have a data server, PCMIA cards, USB's etc etc, so I want to be able to call the subprograms from the server by using M198 P4567. This does not seem to work as both controllers cannot access the data server at once. Have anybody found a way to have both turret programs call subs from the datserver with M198?

Obviously in this case the subs would need to have different names/numbers.
