ftp server software help

upgrading my file server from nt to windows 7. We have a viper with a mitsubitshi control and a sumo with a fanuc 18i control. Lookinig for suggestions for ftp software, Thanks for your help

I use FileZilla. It's free, it's rock solid, and it's easy to use/configure.

If you mount a calmotion lancnc with the FTP option at the machine you never have to use FTP. I write NC programs to the server directly using the windows "mapped network drive" even though its a linux server using samba. Same would apply to windows server.

 

Put the IP of the server and the FTP login for the particular folder you write to in the lancnc.ini file (in the SD card on the lancnc) and pull files from the server at the machine. You can drip feed from the SD card. That's 2GIG of nc code, more than most humans will ever need.

 

Kinda like when we used to have a computer at each machine for drip feeding, only 20 times smaller and much cleaner/more reliable. AND no FTP program needed.
