I have a 1" from top to bottom of the tool that uses the wire. Can you increase and descrease this value so I can fit larger pieces inside or is it pre-detemrined on the piece I insert into mastercam already?

When I select the tool path and select PLAY, the Wire Edm runs the path I choose. There is a set distance between the top when the wire comes and then the bottom where the wire goes. Is there an option to increase/decrase this distance between so the tool won't drive into the part it is cutting. In reality you do raise and lower the tool to fit in the piece of but in Mastercam I want to know.

Try setting your rapid height, uv trim plane and uv height at the thickness of your part in parameters under taper and see if it does what you want

Actually I believe you only have to set your uv trim plane and uv height at the same thickness as your part.

Thanks. I now understand alot more how that taper area works within the wirepath/contour parameters.
