RS232 communications with Win8

Having some troubles with a new system and sending files, it worked good for a few days, now it sends the file on the screen, but doesn't load it into the control.

I don't think it is a M/C problem, but, is it something someone else has run up against with Win8?

M/C settings for comm were set improperly, I will give the specifics when I get to the shop this am.
